Deep River Police and Fire provided first response early Monday evening after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 17 just west of town.

Police were called out shortly after 5 pm after a collision between a white Mitsubishi sports car and a Ford half-ton between Tooley Drive and Josie Lane.

Initial reports suggest the westbound Mitsubishi was attempting to turn left into a private driveway when it was struck from behind by the Ford pickup.

The 17-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi was shaken up but there appeared to be no major injuries in the crash.

The highway was reduced to a single lane of traffic for more than two hours after OPP and Renfrew County paramedics responded and the scene was finally cleared and vehicles towed.
