Special Ops to hold training Friday night

Deep River residents can expect to see and hear military helicopters flying overhead Friday night.

Garrison Petawawa has announced that members of the Canadian Special Operations Forces Command will be conducting routine training in Pembroke and Deep River on July 10-11, between the hours of 9:30 pm and 12 am.

This training will involve CH-146 Griffon aircraft. Residents can expect to see and hear helicopters performing multiple flights and may experience periods of increased noise.

Military weapons will be present. Any use of blank ammunition during training will be done in accordance with Canadian Armed Forces safety measures. Live ammunition will not be present.
